THE PROVINCIAL COUNCIL (BOARD)

The Provincial Council (Board) is the principal governance and advisory body supporting the Provincial of the Salesians of Don Bosco in the ZMB Vice-Province. It is responsible for providing strategic direction, policy oversight, and institutional guidance to ensure that the mission, works, and resources of the province are administered in fidelity to the Salesian charism and in compliance with canonical and statutory requirements. The Provincial Council assists the Provincial in: Strategic leadership and decision-making for the mission and apostolic priorities of the province • Oversight of governance, administration, and finances, ensuring accountability and prudent stewardship of resources Approval and monitoring of major programs and initiatives, including development and donor-funded projects Safeguarding mission integrity, alignment with the Salesian Preventive System, and adherence to Church and civil regulations. In its role as a Board, the Provincial Council also provides oversight to structures such as the Planning and Development Office (Bosco Youth Reach Out), ensuring transparency, effectiveness, and alignment with Provincial priorities and donor expectations. Through collegial collaboration, the Provincial Council strengthens leadership, promotes good governance, and supports the sustainable growth of the Salesian mission across the ZMB Vice-Province.

Vocational Education Training

Bosco Youth Reach Out supports young people with market-driven vocational skills, entrepreneurship training, and work-readiness competencies. The intervention enhances employability, self-employment, and socio-economic integration of vulnerable and marginalized youth.

Capacity Building and Operational Excellence

BYRO focuses on strengthening organizational and community systems through capacity development in governance, project management, safeguarding, financial accountability, and monitoring and evaluation to ensure effective, transparent, and high-quality programme delivery.

Ecology

BYRO promotes environmental responsibility by integrating climate-smart practices, environmental education, waste management, and green skills into youth programmes, fostering resilience and youth-led environmental stewardship.

Inclusion and Empowerment

BYRO advances social inclusion and empowerment of marginalized groups, particularly vulnerable youth and young women, by promoting equitable access to opportunities, skills, leadership development, and participation in decision-making processes.

Education and Evangelization
