Kazembe, Zambia – 2026<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

A major investment in technical and vocational education has been completed at Don Bosco Kazembe, with the construction and equipping of two modern workshops designed to expand practical skills training for young people in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project, titled \u201cConstruction of the Workshops at Don Bosco Kazembe,\u201d was undertaken to strengthen practical vocational training, promote local craftsmanship and create pathways for young people to access employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. The project successfully progressed through all planned construction phases, culminating in the completion and equipping of two workshops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two workshops will support training in metal fabrication and electrification, providing learners with an improved environment in which to develop practical, market-oriented technical skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The completion of the workshops represents more than the construction of new buildings. It provides the physical foundation for hands-on learning, allowing students to acquire competencies that can be applied in the workplace and in self-employment. With the new facilities and equipment in place, Don Bosco Kazembe is better positioned to deliver competency-based technical and vocational education while strengthening opportunities for learners to develop skills aligned with labour-market needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is also expected to strengthen links between the institution and industry. Improved facilities can create opportunities for workplace learning, internships, industry collaboration and future employment linkages, helping to connect vocational training with real economic opportunities. The project intends to empower 80 young people in Kazembe through course enrolment, while also supporting students at the new technical secondary school through vocational pathways. The project budget was \u20ac167,061.37. For a community where access to quality education and vocational training has been a challenge, the investment creates an important platform for young people to acquire practical skills closer to home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wider vision is to contribute to skills development, youth employment, entrepreneurship, economic productivity and improved livelihoods. By investing in vocational infrastructure, Don Bosco Kazembe is creating an environment where young people can develop the technical competencies needed to participate more actively in the local economy. The completion of the workshops marks an important milestone in the development of Don Bosco Kazembe. The facilities are now positioned to support practical training while providing a foundation for future partnerships and skills-development initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Bosco Youth Reach-Out and the Salesians of Don Bosco, the project demonstrates how investment in education, infrastructure and practical skills can help create pathways towards greater employability, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods for young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
